As an internationally-renowned make-up artist, Louise Walsh travels the world introducing people to the convenience and aesthetic appeal of semi-permanent make-up. She’s been visiting Jersey for over a decade and now works exclusively from SpectrumSmiles.
What is it? Semi-permanent make-up is a form of cosmetic tattooing in which a pigment is implanted into the dermal layer of the skin, resulting in a natural enhancement of your features. It’s fantastically convenient, doing away with the need to apply eye-liner or lipstick on a daily basis, there’s no need to touch up your make-up and it won’t ever run. People who have had semi-permanent make-up find that it builds self-confidence, rejuvenates and brings out their natural beauty. The procedure itself only lasts an hour or so but because semipermanent make-up lasts for a few years, people can be nervous about making the right choices. I advise on colour and line and have over twenty years’ experience in understanding what people are looking for and which colours will suit them best.
At the end of the day, if an individual’s skin has retained more or less of the pigment than expected, the colour can be lightened or darkened after the procedure. Once complete, the final result takes about a month to fully reveal itself. When it’s ready, you can be sure that you will look and feel great!
